MENNO
was born on February 23,
1973 in a city called Delft.
When he heard Mark King
(bassplayer of the band
Level42) slapping on his
bassguitar he knew for sure:
'the bass guitar is my instrument!".
His first bass was a wine-red
Washburn. It had the looks
of a bass, but didn't sound
like it :-). He learned
to play bass by listening
to a lot of music and by
playing along with the bass
lines.

MENNO'S EXAMPLES
Of course Menno admires
a lot of famous bassists.
To mention a few: Mark King,
Marcus Miller, Stuart Hamm,
Billy Sheenan, Glenn Hughes
and Roger Glover. Menno
had the age of 16 when he
played in his first rock
band. Soon a few other bands
followed, all with different
musical styles. Making music
with those great musicians
was fun and he gained a
lot of stage experience.
